Locate your natural waist — the smallest part of your torso — and wrap the tape measure around it.
Measure around the widest part of your hips, ensuring the tape is level all the way around.

LENGTH: Place the measuring tape at the base of your neck and measure straight down to where you want the hem to fall. For bottoms, place the tape at your side waist and measure downward to your preferred length.
